The surface area of a pyramid is the lateral area (1/2 x perimeter x slant height) plus the area of the base. The surface area of a prism is 2(lw+wh+lh). The surface area of a cylinder is 2 x pi x radius squared + 2 x pi x radius x height. The surface area of a cone is lateral area (pi x radius x slant height) + area of base.
The volume of a pyramid is 1/3 x lwh because it is one third the volume of a prism, which is lwh. The volume of a cone 1/3 x pi x radius squared x height because it is one third the volume of a cylinder, which is pi x radius squared x height.

Area Formula and Tennessee
The area formulas for a square, rectangle, and parallelogram are the same because they are all parallel quadrilaterals and very similar.
The length of Tennessee is 440 ft, the width is 120 ft, and the area based off of that is 52800 ft.
The actual area of Tennesse is 41220 ft.

Chapter 10
In Chapter 10, I've learned about circles and angles. I learned that a minor arc is less than 180 degrees, a major arc is more than 180 degrees, and a semicircle is 180 degrees. An inscribed angle is an angle made of two cords connected at a point on the circumference. A central angle is made of two radii connected at the center. Also a line tangent to a circle is perpendicular to the circle, drawn to the point of tangency.
Careers related to this are meteorology, astronomy, and photography.
Why are there lines tangent to the circle? I don't undertand why they"re called tangent.
A circle is intersected by two secant lines, AB and CD, at point E. Arc AD is 57 degrees. Arc AC is 26 degrees. Arc AC = Arc DB. What is the measure of all of the arcs and angles?
